THE HANDICAPPED LIFT TO THE PARISH HALL IS BACK IN SERVICE!

Let Us Know

If you or someone you know has moved to assisted living, a retirement or rehabilitation center and would like to receive the parish bulletin by mail, please contact the parish office (337-4314).

Low Gluten Altar Breads

Less than 0.01% gluten content hosts are available for parish members whose health needs require low gluten altar breads.

Individuals in need of this type of host should come to the sacristy before Mass (the area in the northwest corner of the church behind Mary's side altar, at the left). Let the sacristan know that you need this host. The sacristan will place the host in a pyx and then place the pyx on the paten from which the priest will distribute Communion.

When you come forward for Communion, you will need to come forward in the line that will receive Communion from the priest. You may need to request that the priest give you the low gluten host from the pyx.

Questions about low gluten hosts can be directed to the parish office (337-4314).

ST MARY'S PARKING

The church office has been notified that vehicles parked in the church parking lot off Linn Street are blocking pedestrian access to the sidewalk at the parking lot entrance. The sidewalk may not be blocked by parked vehicles. Vehicles so parked will be ticketed or towed for violation of the parking ordinance.

SPACE FOR HANDICAP SEATING

Two pews have been removed at the front of the aisle to the left, near Mary's side altar and the Tabernacle, to provide an open space for those who use mechanical chairs, walkers or other devices that prevent sitting in the pews. In providing this space, it is our desire to offer our handicapped parishioners an option for seating within our assembly, other than the open space at the back of the church. People who accompany those in mechanical chairs, etc. are welcome to make use of the front bench seat at the head of the west side aisle.

NOTE: For some of you, there is a concern about leaving promptly at the end of Mass to catch the SEATS bus. Please don't hesitate to sit in the new handicapped seating area at the front of the church. It is perfectly acceptable for you to move to the back of the church after you have received Communion so that you can then go out to meet the SEATS bus promptly after the end of Mass.

MASS INTENTIONS

Whenever a Mass is prayed at St. Mary's, the good intention of the individual needs of all our parishioners is remembered in prayer. When an individual requests that a particular intention be the primary intention of the priest presiding at that Mass, it is customary for that individual to provide a stipend ($5) for the praying of the Mass and for the intention to be noted in the Sunday bulletin. Given the number of stipends presented, and in order to ensure that a Mass can be offered for a particular intention on a specific day, it is necessary to contact the parish office with your request six months prior to the date to be requested. Requests for a particular intention at the next available Mass (rather then for a specific date) can be provided with more immediate notice.
